LORENA
DAVID - Producer
As
an astute film lover, director and producer, Lorena
David has come full circle in 2000. After acting as
a producer on Kingsize's early projects, including PLUMP
FICTION, she went on to direct BRAVO, A FRIEND COMES
TO VISIT and (just this past spring) EASTSIDE.
For POOR WHITE TRASH, she once again assumes a producer's
role. She continues a streak of success, with BRAVO
and FRIEND making the festival circuit. BRAVO premiered
in March 1999 at the East Lansing (MI) Film Festival.
A FRIEND COMES TO VISIT appeared at the 1999 No Dance
multimedia/film festival in Park City, Utah, last January
and won the Digital Breakthrough Award. FRIEND also
screened at the Hollywood Shorts Festival and the Gen
Art Summer Festival.
"I learned a lot from all of my recent projects," David
says. "I looked forward to putting all of my experience
as a director, producer and film editor to work on our
biggest project to date. We have worked hard with Michael
Addis to make this film happen for the past year, and
we are proud that this film soared beyond anybody's
expectations."
David began her film and video career at the University
of California at San Diego (UCSD), where she supervised
the production of four short films serving as President
of UCSD's Hardcore Films. After relocating to Hollywood,
she sharpened her skills through opportunities to line
produce a feature (THE GLASS CHAIN) and a television
pilot (WRITER'S BLOCK). As a co-founder of Kingsize
Entertainment, Lorena served as a producer on several
feature films (PLUMP FICTION, SINGLE ACTION) and television
series.
