MARK ROBERTS - Producer

As President of Kingsize Entertainment and throughout his career, Mark Roberts assumed an adventurous, entrepreneurial approach to making his dreams happen. In addition to the completion of EASTSIDE and POOR WHITE TRASH, he has built a solid roster of motion picture and television accomplishments.

Prior to EASTSIDE, he and business partner/director Lorena David produced BRAVO, PLUMP FICTION, SINGLE ACTION and the documentary A FRIEND COMES TO VISIT. POOR WHITE TRASH will always occupy a special place in his heart. After finding success in Hollywood and opportunities to shoot in Mexico, he produced the East Los Angeles-set feature EASTSIDE, a project that hit, literally, close to home.

POOR WHITE TRASH now stands as the next step, and the company's most ambitious project to date. "The process of making this film was very exciting, not only because we had a great story, but because it gave me a chance as a producer to go on location and bring a unique place in America's heartland to life." says Roberts. "Once we saw how perfect Benton, IL, was as the backdrop to Michael Addis' creative, zany vision, there was no turning back. Even with all the local color and insanity that transpires, however, the story is about family bonds and friendship."

Roberts' first major career break, after a stint as a Universal Studios tour guide, was landing the position of Extras Casting Director on the film THE THREE AMIGOS, starring Steve Martin and Chevy Chase. From this experience he opened his own company, Enterprise Casting. He accomplished this by the age of 20. Roberts' Enterprise Casting filled slots on numerous films and television shows including IT'S A LIVING, EMPTY NEST and BLOSSOM.

In 1989, Roberts sold his now-successful company and switched gears into a production career, starting out producing television shows at Channel 22, a Los Angeles Spanish-language station. A chance meeting with Lorena David on the set of television series SUPERMARKET SWEEP led to the formation of Kingsize Entertainment. They built the company on shared drive, values and commitment to filmmaking, and they sold their very first project as producers, PLUMP FICTION, to Rhino Entertainment.

Following PLUMP FICTION's run on the film festival circuit, Roberts was introduced to Carlos Gallardo (EL MARIACHI). Gallardo and Roberts teamed up to produce the feature films SINGLE ACTION and BRAVO.
