MICHAEL
LAWRENCE - Executive Producer
As
a Los Angeles native, it was very easy for Michael Lawrence
to have a life-long love affair with movies and moviemaking.
He first interfaced with Hollywood as a child actor,
appearing on several CBS SCHOOLBREAK afternoon dramas.
Simultaneously, he participated in live theater productions
through his middle school, and later, high school. During
high school, he was lucky enough to earn some significant
breaks -- he was hand-selected by STAR TREK's Nichelle
Nichols as a cast member of the touring show "Space
Cadets" and was inspired by director Harold Baker, who
spent four months observing his high school wrestling
team for the 80's hit VISION QUEST.
When
his work did not parlay into auditions or casting in
adult roles, Michael rethought his career, and eventually
found his place as a producer taking charge behind the
scenes. The opportunity serendipitously came about when
Michael and Kingsize founder Mark Roberts were dating
mutual friends. The two produced a pilot, WRITER'S BLOCK,
that galvanized Michael to pursue producing.
When
Mark Roberts and Lorena David formed Kingsize Entertainment,
Michael quickly signed on as a partner and producer.
From there, he has taken an active producing role on
all of Kingsize's motion picture projects. On SINGLE
ACTION, he was Executive Producer, while on BRAVO and
EASTSIDE, he was an Associate Producer.
For
POOR WHITE TRASH, he once again assumed Executive Producer
responsibilities. "What I find most satisfying about
being a producer is the responsibility of delivering
everything 110%, just as the actors I have worked with
do," he says. "Being
a producer is testimonial to one's commitment to quality
filmmaking. I am proud to say all films I have put my
heart and soul into are high quality."
