YOUNG - Linda Bronco
Sean
Young moves into the next phase of her career as the
attractive, headstrong and devoted mother figure Linda
Bronco. Young's performance as Linda has both dramatic
and comedic nuances that previously surfaced in her
other films, including BLADE RUNNER, ACE VENTURA: PET
DETECTIVE, STRIPES, DUNE, COUSINS, NO WAY OUT and WALL
STREET.
Additionally,
she had prominent roles in several critically praised
television shows, including Robert Altman's GUN (ABC),
WITNESS TO THE EXECUTION (NBC), EVERYTHING TO GAIN (CBS)
and UNDER THE BILTMORE CLOCK (PBS).
In
the fall of 1999, she stars in the forthcoming release
SPECIAL DELIVERY with Penny Marshall. And not one to
rest on her laurels, she follows POOR WHITE TRASH with
two more buzz-worthy independent films. She stars in
THE AMATI GIRLS (also starring Mercedes Ruehl, Cloris
Leachman, Lee Grant, Paul Sorvino, Mark Harmon and Jamey
Sheridan) for Triple Axel/Tricor Ent. & FilmArt (a new
division of Paramount) and SUGAR & SPICE (directed
by Francine McDougall and produced by Oscar winner Wendy
Finerman of FORREST GUMP acclaim) for New Line.
"I
enjoyed getting the opportunity to play something so
different from the cool femme and bad girl roles I have
played in the past," she reflects. "Linda's a radical
departure -- a low-income, poorly educated woman who
can be seen as trashy. I could describe her as 'rode
hard and put up wet.' However, despite the fact that
she has been through a lot, she is no victim and nobody's
fool. She learns things the hard way, but she lands
on her feet, getting wiser in the process." "This character
is so different that I had to look deep inside myself
to discover who she really was. But we do have a few
things in common -- like her, there is nothing I wouldn't
do for my children."
